The Junior League of Tucson provides experienced training so
that its members are among the most effective and trained volunteers in the
Tucson community. The community benefits from this training because our
volunteers bring an intellectual component to volunteering in the community. Some ways the JLT provides training for its members:
General Meetings
provide training in a large group setting by providing speakers who cover such
topics as bringing humor into your life, advocacy for Independent Seniors and Making
an Impact in the Community. As well as providing access to well-known speakers.
Committees within the League are a source of training by
their nature. For example, volunteers can learn about public relations by
participating on the Communication Council, how to run a successful fundraiser
on Fund Development or special events by being a member of Member Events.
JLT University is our effort to develop the potential of our
women members, and further our mission to improve the community through the
effective action of trained volunteers. Open to the public, JLT University
showcases workshops on topics such as improving your resume, training in Excel
and Independent Senior advocacy.
