PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

On behalf of the women of the Junior League of Tucson, I offer a heartfelt welcome!

Founded in 1929 as the Service League of Tucson and later welcomed into the Association of Junior Leagues International in 1933, the Junior League of Tucson is an organization of women united by a shared commitment of building better communities and cultivating the next generation of civic leaders.

This year, our theme is simple: SHINE.  “Shine” symbolizes the collective potential for greatness when our members come together, recognizing and appreciating the unique qualities that each individual brings to the league. It encourages a culture of support, celebration, and empowerment that we can carry out in our community.

I am proud to lead an organization that fosters voluntarism, leadership, and friendship.

In addition to providing the community with hundreds of volunteer hours, we are dedicated to our issue area of Menstrual Equity and Period Product Access.

We train our members not only through workshops and conferences, but through experiential learning. Many members serve in leadership positions, overseeing councils, like our fundraising council that puts on our Touch-A-Truck event, or an ad-hoc, like Cinderella’s Closet.

Lastly, our members remain the heartbeat of our organization. We are dedicated to nurturing friendships, developing relationships, and ensuring our members feel value in being a part of the Junior League of Tucson.

On behalf of the 2023/24 Board of Directors, thank you for entrusting us with the honor to lead the Junior League of Tucson.

Yours In Service,

Terri Tellez-Baker

President, 2023-2024
